Testing the CMB Data for Systematic Effects

چکیده

Under the assumption that the concordance Λ cold dark matter (CDM) model is the correct model, we test the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy data for systematic effects by examining the band pass temperature residuals with respect to this model. Residuals are analysed as a function of angular scale l, galactic latitude, frequency, calibration source, instrument type and several other variables that may be associated with potential systematic effects. Our main result is that we find no significant systematic errors associated with these variables. However, we do find marginal evidence for a trend associated with galactic latitude indicative of galactic contamination. Subject headings: cosmic microwave background cosmology: observations

Although individual observational groups vigorously test their data sets for systematic errors, the pre-WMAP CMB observational data set has not yet been collectively tested. Under the assumption that the concordance model is the correct model, we have explored residuals of the observational data with respect to this model to see if any patterns emerge that can be identified with systematic erro...

Effects of Humic Acid and Cow Manure Biochar (CMB) in Culture Medium on Growth and Mineral Concentrations of Basil Plant

In sustainable agriculture, protection of the ecosystem and reduce chemical fertilizers are the main goals. Nowadays, sweet basil, one of the best general fragrant foliage, is considered as an industrial plant. In present study to compare different levels of cow manure biochar (CMB) and humic acid (HA) on vegetative traits and mineral absorption rate of green basil plants, an experiment was con...

Impact of Instrumental Systematic Contamination on the Lensing Mass Reconstruction using the CMB Polarization

In this paper, we study the effects of instrumental systematics on the reconstruction of the deflection angle power spectrum from weak lensing of Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) temperature and polarization observations. We consider 7 types of effects which are related to known instrumental systematics: calibration, rotation, pointing, spin-flip, monopole leakage, dipole leakage and quadrupol...

Mirage : a new iterative Map - Making code for CMB experiments

A major goal of CMB experiments is to obtain highly sensitive CMB maps in order to extract Spherical Harmonic Power Spectrum (SHPS) and cosmological parameters with unprecedented accuracy. We present a new map-making code (Mirage), based on a two-phase iterative algorithm, involving low frequency drift treatment, Butterworth high-pass filtering and conjugate gradient method. This work was stron...
